10 Engagement Ring Styles You Need To Know

Getting engaged is an unforgettable moment in life, and the perfect ring is the last little bit that makes it truly unique. With so many different patterns and styles to choose from, it can be difficult to know where to begin. The old standards are out of date; nowadays it's all about the person and the diamond engagement ring that's in tune with their taste and values. With so many choices, it can be hard to choose. Whether you’re after a simple budget sparkler or something more extravagant, stay with us to decide the perfect one for your needs.

1) Solitaire

Solitaire engagement rings have a single stone, which is often prominently placed. The word "solitaire" refers to how there's only one stone on the ring. A solitaire diamond is a good choice if you want to highlight the brilliance without being flashy. Putting this type of diamond on a simple ring with prongs or claws will go smoothly with any attire, no matter how subtle

2) Pave

A Pave setting is a nice way to customize an engagement ring. The process entails inserting minuscule diamonds or other stones into the ring’s band. The ring is made more beautiful by the light reflecting off the gemstones. For a personal touch, consider replacing some of the gemstones with gems that are meaningful to your partner or child.

3) Cathedral

Because of their distinguished history and appearance, cathedral settings have been popular for decades. This term was coined because the shank and shoulders of the ring curve up to support the diamond. These curves are reminiscent of the arches that give cathedrals their unique look. They can be set with pavé diamonds for added glitz or left unadorned. It’s a modern engagement style, and lets you express your love with it.

4) Halo

Halo rings have become one of the most popular ring designs. They are stunning to look at and make it hard for your eye to ever move away from the center stone. A border or halo is made around the focal stone by a series of smaller, pavé-set diamonds. The light shines on the center diamond and makes it seem brighter and sparklier.

5) Cluster

Cluster settings combine several smaller stones to get the same impression as a big diamond. As a result, they are often known as ‘illusion’ rings. As a result, they are an excellent low-cost alternative for an engagement ring. Cluster diamonds are an excellent method to increase the luster and brightness of your diamond without breaking the bank.

6) Bezel

One of the most secure ring settings is the bezel. It relies on a metal border and not prongs to hold the gem in place. This style might be a good choice for an engagement ring, as it gives you more protection against accidental damage. Bezel rings are more expensive than prong rings, but they also require less maintenance. There are no claws to maintain or tighten, but due to the stone's position in the band there may be a slight difference in size.

7) Tension Style Rings

The tension setting is named from the tension of the metal band that holds the diamond in place; because of this, it gives an illusion that the diamond is floating. The jeweler expertly cuts tiny grooves into the sides of the band, or shank, with the help of lasers used to calibrate the exact dimensions of the diamond, so that the diamond, or other precious stone, is literally held by the pressure of the custom-designed metal band pushing into the sides of the stone. It is a beautiful and delicate style.

8) Three-Stone Style

Three-stone engagement rings are an incredibly romantic option. This is mainly thanks to the symbolism of the three stones. Trilogy rings are thought to represent the past, present and future and can be worn in many ways depending on their size, kind and shape of stones. A common choice when it comes to a diamond is the trio style with three diamonds. A modern twist on this is to use a gem in a different color, such as green, as the center stone and surround it with diamonds. Whichever option you decide on, its important that each part of your necklace compliments each other beautifully!

9) Eternity Band

Eternity bands are a very popular choice, although they are not a specific type of setup. They can be found on women’s wedding rings, other milestones and on Valentine’s Day.

The presence of diamonds or other precious stones down the band is represented as an eternal love for your partner. Hence, it's called 'engagement rings'.

10) Custom Engagement Rings

Customized rings are all about expressing your own thoughts with something extra than a regular diamond ring. A personal touch like engraving or carving on the ring that has significance or meaning to you and your partner can make it an even more unforgettable experience.
